I've just done the same and I checked with my accountant (nixon's) and they confirmed the same form is used. The gross turnover is entered in box 6 (I think) on the Flat rate, the net turnover if you are on the normal vatOriginally posted by MobileCheeseJust got my first, I registered for the flat rate scheme and have the certificate.
As I have not recieved a VAT return before is there a different one for the flat rate and normal VAT schemes or is it the form ?. The return they sent me has VAT 100 in the bottom left hand corner and has 9 different boxes, is this the correct one for me to complete for the flat rate scheme ?
Thanks And Happy New Year

Government Gateway and Vat Return online using bank transfer. Easiest way.Originally posted by MobileCheeseJust got my first, I registered for the flat rate scheme and have the certificate.

Also sorry to sound stupied but it says if I pay by cheque I need to 'put a line through any spaces on the pay line and cross them "AC Payee Only". I understand the line through spaces bit but what is the "cross them AC Payee only" mean, never done that one a cheque before ?
IR and HRMC always send me stuff on a bloody Friday so they give me the weekend to wonder about it, or I would ask my accountant.
Thanks And Happy New Year

You just draw 2 parallel lines across the cheque and write those words between them. This prevents the cheque being "cashed" because it needs to be paid into an account. Some banks pre-cross their cheques in this fashion.Originally posted by MobileCheeseAlso sorry to sound stupied but it says if I pay by cheque I need to 'put a line through any spaces on the pay line and cross them "AC Payee Only".
