Hello there. I've been lurking this forum for years but only now I've created an account, obvs to pick people's brains. Apologies if this ain't the right subforum, it seemed like the better fit.
I've been trying to figure out myself the old whack-a-mole job of balancing personal finances. Is it more efficient to pay myself extra dividends to do mortgage overpayments? Should I instead invest more in a pension? I'm sure this is all familiar to most.
I've talked to some financial advisors and the miscellaneous fees they charge on stuff like regular advice, pension management etc are eye-watering. I mean, to the point that I'm unsure if they even make economic sense. Are they more expensive than the tax savings?
I'm certain this is 100% automatable. But I can't find anything for the UK market beyond apps that read your bank accounts and gloat over how much money I've wasted on starbucks.
Anybody used any such software that could recommend?
