I work as an IT Project Manager, would the flat rate be 14.5% then? What about corp tax?

What would be the total savings on a £2k spend?

Agree, i would want it as my own asset through my limited company.

Possible benefits to VAT registration such as flat rate scheme ( paying back a lower %) and then purchasing capital assets over £2000 you can reclaim the VAT on the expenses. Something to think about..

Expencing business equipment via Umbrella company or Ltd?

Hey guys,

New to this all but long story short:

- Currently working through an Umbrella for a client (not shackled by SDC)
- Have my own LTD company for my next role
- Am not VAT registered

Wish to buy some business equipment solely for contract work totally, around £1700.

Should I get it through my Umbrella (Umbrella claims they would keep 15% as security deposit and reimburse 85% in the most vat friendly way) or through my LTD?
