Hello genies
need your expert advise..
background
I'm British citizen and working as contractor for UK bank through my own LTD company (i'm single director & wife <also British citizen is shareholder>.
My wife has been offered job in USA as L1A visa and I'll be going there as her dependant L2. I'll be applying for EAD so that I can work locally for US company. I understand that it takes time to get EAD. meanwhile, I would like to continue with my UK client, whilst EAD is getting sorted out. My client will be invoiced as BAU (i.e. UK invoice and payment in UK£ as normally client does)... My intention is to stop UK work as soon as I get my EAD approved and I find local job... but don't want to be jobless and househusband sitting in USA.
question
- is it allowed to work remotely when EAD is still in progress (i.e.whilst sitting in USA, I will be working on UK client).if yes, any impact on EAD process?
- Income earned by LTD company during that period, will it attract USA taxation <i.e. physical location of work will be USA but client, invoicing, work, payment everything will be UK>
- can I start applying locally in USA , with status EAD applied for.
please advise
