You actually expect people to read comments before responding? Isn't this really just an opportunity to express ourselves?

Thanks for the answer, I'll have to phone them. For Euros and dollars, I just dump everything into my German and US accounts, and bring it over in amounts more than £20K, so a £7 fee is no big deal. But when every payment of £2-3K from Dubai or Singapore or Hong Kong gets hit with a £7 fee it gets annoying.

Not that I could see. Because I'm so nice I rang them and asked, but they said that it may vary from country to country depending on where the money is coming from, and I didn't know that.

Monthly charge of £5 if you have less than £5k in your account.

My accountant set up mine with Metro. Quick and totally painless from my side of things.

If you are banking with HSBC, ring them up and ask for an appointment in your local branch. They already know you assuming you've been banking with them personally for a while.

Thanks guys, I have submitted application online via HSBC/BARCLAYS but no response yet. I have also applied in person in Barclays branch on 24th but no response yet. The only bank now left to apply I am already banking with HSBC. Let me try HSBC in branch as well.

Sounds like opening business bank account is fun nowadays with high street banks or their staff is on Maternity leave may be...
