I am currently locked into a 5 year fixed mortgage deal with Natwest. I want to move to a bigger place, but the way Natwest assess contractor income is limiting the amount they will loan me. Other lenders will lend me the amount I want based on a contractors income at the same interest rate as Natwest.

If I leave Natwest with 3 years left of my deal they will charge me the best part of £10k to leave. Has anyone ever managed to speak to the underwriters of Natwest to be reassessed as a contractor? I've spoken to a couple of brokers who are unable to help, presumably because they wont get their commission to help me in this way.
