Hi guys, I keep reading about these IR35 rules and I'm trying to work out where I fit in with all of this, or if it's completely irrelevant to me.
I started a limited company at the beginning of this year. I arranged with a firm I used to work with over a year ago to do 3 days a week working from home for them. There are no designated start and finish times, and I'm free to pick and choose what cases to work on (they have a helpdesk system and I assist with break fix cases)
Sometimes they ask me to look at certain things, which I fit into my schedule with them.
I also have a couple of other clients that I work for. So I send invoices to 3 different firms every month.
I've now increased my days with the first client to 4 days of the week. At the moment still working from home, using my own equipment etc. Although they may want me to come in one day of the week in the near future.
So my questions are. Am I seen as a contractor within the eyes of HMRC? From my point of view, I'm simply a business providing services to several different companies and there's no formal contracts in place with any of them. I occasionally travel to places on request, but not everyday.
Any advice would be appreciated.
