You will need to start an Aps (Ltd comapny) and run it all through that. If you want to separate the two businesses then you need two Aps's and two lots of start up capital (2 x DKr150,000), two lots of accountant fees etc. etc. An Aps works like a Ltd in the UK pre-IR35.

Maybe do the UK contract work through a UK umbrella and the Danish work thorugh the Aps.

I am British and have been working for 5 years as a full-time employee of a UK IT company. In August of this year I will be moving to Copenhagen. I'm unsure of the length of my stay, but it will be for at least a year and probably for much longer.

Once I move, the UK company I currently work for is still going to give me work to do remotely. However, my full-time employee contract will be ended and all future work will be on a per-piece contract basis.

To confuse matters further, when I get to Denmark I am intending to start up a 2-man graphic design company (with a Danish citizen). We currently both live in this country and do odd pieces of work for free. The point of us moving to Denmark is to take this venture more seriously and hopefully take on some paid work. It will only be infrequent, small scale jobs for the foreseeable future (hence my financial need to do contract work for my old employer).

Some of the factors I'm currently trying to get my head around are:

* What do I need to set up so I can live in Denmark and complete contract work for a UK company?

* What would happen if I wanted to perform other contract work at some point in the future for a Danish company?

* What do I need to set up to enable the Denmark-based design company to receive payment for work completed?

* Would it be better to tie everything into "Spoiled Milk" (the design company) and have my IT contract work paid through that?

Does anyone have any advice on what would be the best route to go down?
