I do both - monthly DD from company account, and the odd top up cheque. Just make sure they know they're company contributions.

    Contribution

I make ad hoc contributions into my HL Sipp and send a confirmation email to HL that my company is paying in to my 'employees' pension. Seems to work ok

I used the online form, but it didn't mention anything about employer contributions. I have emailed them anyway.

Quite so. Just tell them for each contribution. An email will do. Why not call them and verify that?

Yup, I've got one too, was a bit baffled you can't see to do online transfers of "employer" contributions. You can however set up a monthly direct debit...so I've now got that for employer contributions, don't really bother with employee/personal ones anymore, though still have the option to if required.

Not sure it matters as long as the correct tax is paid.

However I have just been looking to amalgamate a few personal pension which I had hanging around with them and even looking at the middle tier of expected returns it would appear that after the various charges which were paid to various people the amount of money I was expecting to have was less than the amount of money I had paid in.

To be fair I am waiting for them to respond to my query re the above so it may have been a mistake but just double check their figures.

When opening a SIPP with them to be paid via my company account do I just open a regular SIPP and use my biz bank details or do I need to do something different like an employer contributed one?
