Please do try and get them in by Saturday morning. It doesn’t matter if the still need tweeking as you can do that upto the first game. It’s just that yours truly needs to accept them into the league and I is wanting to be well lubricated in the local before kickoff!

I shan’t be drinking on Saturday as I’m playing on Sunday. Also, I’m now into an even more serious fitness regime to prepare for the Amsterdam Sevens.Originally posted by Swiss Tony View PostI is wanting to be well lubricated in the local before kickoff!

Good luck with that, grew up playing sevens in Singapore and its bloody knackering. Not to mention one mistake and they are through.
Sounds daft but overall fitness prevails over skill every time, unless of course your playing at the top and then everyone is bloomin fit.

Trouble with Amsterdam Sevens is that it’s filled up with professional players in invitation teams; Serevi played there last year. English pros play there for Wooden Spoon, then your have White Hart Marauders who include several top players.Originally posted by Swiss Tony View PostGood luck with that, grew up playing sevens in Singapore and its bloody knackering. The other trouble is that I’m the wrong side of 35. Still fit, very fit even, but a very fit 20 something and a very fit 30 something aren’t quite the same, especially when it comes to sevens.
I have now started doing light 20 minute fartlek running sessions in the mornings as well as my usual training of 3 evenings a week in the gym and 2 evenings at the rugby club. I just want one final blast at a really high standard, then it might be time to say f**k it and go and drink with the veterans. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument?
