Any more news on the test cases ?

Its all gone very quite, don't know whether to panic and settle after the last letter in december or hang in there and keep my fingers crossed.
Does anyone have any more info as Chiltern/Sandfield are silent only HMRC is sending letters and each one sounds worse ! :-(

1st Test Case May 2012

I believe the first Sandfield test case is being heard in May 2012. I believe Accountax is defending the case. If you have not got representation give them a call.

January 2012 letter from Kerry Rowe

I last wrote to HMRC in August 2008 and today, for the first time since then, have received a letter from them. It's the same sort of language as usual.

When I last wrote I told them I wanted the appeal to go to the special comissioners and I beleive the letter was copied to Chilterns. I hadn't thought too much about it since then.

Who has news etc of what is happening?

According to the letter there are two cases going to tribunal later this year. There was also contact details of one of the people going to tribunal.

Look forward to any info anyone has.

I too received the latest letter of intimidation today, the first one for a few years. Quite astonished that they're still wasting time and money on this.

Are Chiltern still involved in this, and still defending the case on behalf of all affected Sandfield ex-employees? The document repository on consultingoverseas.com shows no updates since 2008.

If Chiltern aren't involved any more, should we register our interest with some other party, perhaps get some advice?

I'm another who tought it at all gone quet but have now received the latest HMRC letter - looking at the optons presented, thinking of going with Option D - views ?

Does anyone have information on where the current cases are going ?
Last letter from HMRC said that their opinion that scheme did not work was upheld, so whens the next case ? is it with comissioners ?
Starting to get twitchy about maybe bailing out / giving up / selling kidney to settle - anyone else considering ?

I'm guessing some of you still waiting for a conclusion on this have received HMRC letters in the last few days ?
If so, just wanted to resurrect this thread to get a view - looks like the test case is now end May 2013 and can take a few months after that for a decision to be reached.

So HMRC contacting all those who havent settled with another chance to do so ..... discuss !

I've just seen this string of posts re the former Sandfield - Overseas Consulting scheme. Unfortunately, I'm one of the unlucky few caught up in the whole mess as well. Of course, like you, am getting frustrated as there seems to be no resolution in sight.

I noted your earlier posts re taking legal action against Sandfield and was wondering if that option got any traction. It appears that we have been left out to hang as it seems that Sandfield has been dissolved; and Chilterns has been bought by BDO.

Does anyone know if we still have representation? Who we should be speaking to?

I was also involved in Sandfield way back in 2002/3
My latest letter arrived just after Christmas (thanksfully it did not ruin Christmas).
I tried to contact Chilterns and discovered they have been bought out and when I mentioned why I was calling there was a distinct sigh and a 'someone will call you back' - but they haven't as of yet.

Does any one have the second last letter from HMRC where they gace details of the test case and contact details for the person it related to. I would be interested in contacting that person but I can't find the letter.
It is very unclear how many have settled and Childtern were never forthcoming with that information.
Now consulting overseas has been liquidated too....
Anybody got any comments?
I also noticed in the original tax estimations by HMRC they have grossly over estimated my income while I was at Sandfield.
Really nervous now as I stopped working to have a family a few years ago and have no way of paying the amounts that may be required...
anyobe know how the interest is calculated?
