If anyone cared to undertake just a little research in these claims you will find a great man who had the balls to create legal tax loop holes and what is more poignant is that he defended these structures in Court with the HMRC who ultimately dropped the case against him. That really does say a lot for his intellect and ability to legally take on the establishment and is surely worthy of applause rather than ridicule and idle speculation.

Mr. Gittins enjoys an enviable and well deserved lifestyle and will go from strength to strength. Take if from someone who has had the pleasure to know and work with Mr. Gittins for over 30 years, he is a good egg!

WG lost Huitson. He did not appeal in time.

If you know WG I feel very sorry for you. There are thousnda of Huitson victims who really loathe WG.

Sadly I think you are WG. Might be nice if you explained why you doid not appeal Huitson.

To be fair, WG did pursue a JR against s58 and took it to the high court, court of appeal and tried appealing to the supreme court and ECHR. And he did take the case to a tax tribunal. Missing the deadline to appeal was inept though, even though the case was hopeless. He probably did more than most providers to defend his schemes.

To me, he became suss when he started demanding loan repayments.

I don't suppose anyone who repaid has ever seen a penny of the money again.

The reason he did not appeal was lack of money.

One person who repaid 10% asked for it back. They are still waiting.....

Unsurprisingly the client's appeal failed because it was late.

I noticed the most recent document from the administrator here: MONTPELIER PROFESSIONAL LIMITED - Filing history (free information from Companies House) and noticed that the parent company is unlikely to get its £11,173,419 back. I've no idea what it all means though.

I think I've reported before that Montpelier Professional in the UK has been placed in liquidation because they tangled with an insolvency specialist who spent a lot of time (and his own money) pursuing money he claimed he was owed. A Judge agreed.

Montpelier and Mr Gittins look to be coming to a sticky end. On the Isle of Man FSA website his companies appear to be in receivership as a result of Mr Gittins using some "millions of pounds of client funds' to maintain his lifestyle.

One wonders just who David Sterling is with his posts in June of this year, since, if you view the links to the above website, June was more or less the time the case that led to this action was being heard.

Shame couldn't happen to a nicer chap.

I've been stuffed - Class action perhaps?

Guys, I've come really late to this party and just had a long phone call with the appointed manager for the Montpelier mess.

I paid off my loan and yes, I doubt if I'll see any of it ever again. I'm like hundreds of others in this sorry mess. Is their any more updated news on where this has been going or plans to take further action?

I've been advised to take legal and tax advice, (more money!) But is this just good money after bad? Any comms would be appreciated, but no hindsight merchants please. I am trying to focus on the future and what might be rather than my stupid decisions of the past. Thanks
