Can I ask is there any point in objecting to hmrc interest on tax owed?

Probably not as a general rule I'm afraid. If you are talking about the loan charge - they cant be claiming interest on closed years (years where no enquiry exists).Originally posted by AlbertEinstein View PostCan I ask is there any point in objecting to hmrc interest on tax owed? -
Yet another reason why CLSO2 is such a terrible offer.
HMRC open an enquiry just within the 4 year window and then do nothing at all in the many years since yet expect you to pay interest on tax you weren't even liable for in the first place!
If their incompetence and malice wasn't so encouraged by the equally-incompetent Government it'd be laughable.Comment
