Clearly you see it as bad, although for those in the UK who stand to gain it's arguably rather good, but blaming the media for the story existing in the first place is very much a case of shooting the messenger.

"why UK independence from the EU" what BTW?

Okay for the sake of balance find me one article on, lets say the BBC, that presents a positive story in independence. They've been many successful newly formed independent countries over the years.

      Woosh!

Point a) It's good news for the UK. 5000 jobs are coming here.
Point b) The papers didn't actually make this news up. THEY ARE NOT TO BLAME!

Has it occurred to you that the blitz of "negative" stories surrounding independence might just be because it's actually a dumb idea?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Is it possible that the reason there are no positive stories about it is that, once you remove the emotional aspects, it is not really positive thing to happen for most people in Scotland?

It is basically a monumentally fookin' stupid thing to do, or even consider. It is making business up here harder at the moment, stuff I am involved in as well.

Still, I don't believe a word of what SL say and they would remain in Scotland of there was independence.

I can't have an opinion because I don't live there?

The British press has plenty of opinions about the rest of the world. Should we ask them all the same question?

You'll be hard pressed to find a positive story anywhere outside of SNP press releases.

Name some successful newly formed independent countries that have broken away from a highly developed economy? If you look at former colonies the track record is hardly stellar. Some of the bits of former USSR have done OK but the USSR was hardly booming when it fell apart.

Finally I've got you to recognise the negative story telling. We'll get there little be little. Small moves, as my father used to say.

Interesting when a people consider taking control of their own futures the opposition considers it a dumb idea.

The papers can choose investigative journalism if they wish. These days it's a dying skill.

Oh wake up you paranoid fool. This isn't "story telling", or an opinion piece designed to persuade, it's a factual report of what is actually going on in the world. If you see it as negative then ask yourself why that is. It's not because the papers want you to see it as negative, it's because independence is going to have real consequences and like it or not some of them are going to be bad for Scotland. Investigative journalism isn't going to uncover some alternate reality where that isn't the case.

Personality aside. I'm not the only one who see the -ev side.

They insist they are not advising people how to vote but their remarks certainly focus on the negative.
Even still this is not a fact. In any case facts are for history not newspapers.

                      Scooter,

Being as you are here, would you mind having a look at the questions I asked earlier?
I am late to the game with any of this and am having trouble finding the foundations!
