I remember you posted about that the other day. I confused Bernard with your father though.

I used to have a uncle who showed me how you can smoke the dried shoots of Old Man's Beard. You just snap a piece off light up and smoke it. The xylum of the plant is of such a nature that it allows air to draw through so it burns down with every puff like a cigarette.

        Tasted foul though!

          Just imagine, an entire hour.

I'd have been hoping the picture valve would break in the tv.

Ah I see. I knew I'd posted it somewhere but forgot it was on here!

Does Old Man's Beard have any nicotine content?

No but I do grow nicotiana in my garden every summer. It's an annual bedding plant of the same genus as the tobacco plant. I don't smoke myself but even if I did and I wanted to try these ornamental plants I'd be disappointed as the slugs and snails usually chomp their way through them first.

Though there was The Lone Ranger & his faithful Indian Native American companion to make up for it all.

That's positively contemporary compared to what we are discussing here!

Inceidentally, wasn't there some dreadful remake of this featuring somebody like Reeves and Mortimer or those bods who do Little Britain?
