Joking aside, it's been a tough year for you, you surely deserve a proper Chrimble dinner?

You can buy a small turkey crown, so fewer leftovers. Or had you considered that and just fancied something totally different?

Put your effort into a good bit of meat, make your own cauliflower cheese because it makes a difference. Make your own yorkshire pud too. Then get aunt bessie to do the rest - the goose fat spuds are perfectly adequate (unless you really want to go to the effort required to get them mega), and the frozen parsnips are good too. Frozen peas, posh packet gravy. A few bottles of London Pride or Bombadier.

Then you aren't cooking all day and have plenty of time to watch Scrooged, Lawrence of Arabia, The matrix, and Zulu.

        Nice

I like to peel and slice the parsnips and carrots into chunky lengthways slices, put in a round pie tin, salt and pepper, drizzle with a little olive oil, cover in tin foil and whack it in the over. Deeeeeeeeeeeeee-lish.

Tried the frozen parsnips last weekend - very nice indeed.

What?! There is no better time for an epic 3 hours and 42 minutes of of O'Tool on TV. The DVD even comes on 2 discs with an intermission in the middle padded with 10 minutes or so of mood music either side. You can go and get a ice-cream.
