This kind of stuff should be in Office SDK.

It is, but only for conventional VC++ code operating on OLE2 interfaces.

Was hoping someone had written a .NET wrapper for ::StgOpenStorageEx() and all that bollox in managed C++, and funny enough, someone has. God bless 'em!
