Having visited Moscow a couple of times;the girls are stunning but sadly will think nothing of getting you hitched then ditched for your money; so act dumb take them for a ride then vanish into thin air.

Who says romance is not dead ....

Is that the one where you have to kiss a kerbstone & while doing so someone delivers a kick to the head therebye removing all your teeth?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

When I stay the hotel at the bottom of the trade centre it is teeming with hookers. But at least they understand "no".

Last visit I was in the Radisson, not a hooker in sight. They do however have a Lambo in the foyer, it's a freebie for winning a million US in the casino. I failed.

There are many more very expensive cars in Moscow than in London, Lambo's should not be very popular though - they are too low to the ground and Russian roads are sh1te.

Agreed, it wouldn't be entriely practical. Bentley seems to be particulary in vogue along with the new S Class at the moment. Also seem to be quite a few of that Audi Q7 thing about. I think a lot of it arrivers via Finlad rarther than any official channel though.

The roads are improving (but anything not new is still pretty sh1te). There is a lot of new building ex airport and the second ring (or is it the outer one?) seems to have been completely rebuilt. Kurdhovsky (sp) Prospekt etc seem to be extremely well maintained - but I guess they wouldn't like Mr P to have a bumpy ride.

It's just such an expensive place to go (most expensive city in the world now I beleive). A mediocre room was costing employer 235 gbp room only. Still the Metro is cheap - even allowing for the bribes, and so much easier than arguing with the taxi driver about the fare.

We do seem to have strayed from the original topic somewhat.

The roads that are well maintained are those that used by Gotv officials. A fair few (used to be many) expensive cars in Russia were order-to-steal with local police taking brides to register them with incorrect information to avoid them being tracked by Interpol.

I hear rents in Russia doubled this year - this kind of stuff is unsustainable, they are building yet another bubble and its going to blow big time.

I though they normally headed in the western direction. Slave trading as well as corruption by the border officials.

It's not unknown at the moment for them to double in the middle of a tenancy etc. Here is a reasonable apartment (no idea if the area is any good but I think there are only bad areas and worse ones ) http://www.evans.ru/search/?id=23801

This is 72k USD per year. I believe this would cost in the region of 3-400k USD to buy. I don't understand why companies don't buy rather than rent - although I am sure there are reasons.

I did hear that some new build around the 150sq m mark was being touted at up to 1.5 mil USD.

Its a nice flat, but $6k per month is nuts - this is very typically Russian way of doing things: not knowing where to stop.
