How are things in the UK with respect to getting legal threats from ISPs or MPAA/RIAA/Others-of-the-kind for torrenting stuff?Comment

Google.Originally posted by Platypus View PostNow that isohunt has been shutdown, where do you look for torrents?
The idea that shutting down TPB (sort of), isohunt, kat.ph, eztv, btjunkie etc will stop people finding torrents is ludicrous. Just use Google and you'll find a link to the torrent file easily enough.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI hadn't really understood this 'pwned' expression until I read DirtyDog's post.Comment

I believe the current agreement is that you get two warnings from the ISP then get banned.

Block non-encrypted peers. I've never had one of those warnings.Originally posted by BigRed View PostI believe the current agreement is that you get two warnings from the ISP then get banned.

Nor me, just saying what I think the rules are. The appetite for chasing individuals seems to have died out these days, they got a lot of bad publicity from some of the prosecutions. In addition, all that would really happen is people would go back to buying pirated DVDs etc at car boot sales, computer fairs, etc.Comment
