I had similar thoughts toward that question."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark Twain -
Air pressure behind the ballon increases due to the accelerating wall of the truck?Originally posted by MyUserName View PostAlright, I have never pretended to be clever - I got the others but could someone explain the balloon one to me?"Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". In a vacuum, the balloon would lean backwards, but it's not in a vacuum, there is air in the truck, and when the air moves backwards it pushes the balloon forwards.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostAlright, I have never pretended to be clever - I got the others but could someone explain the balloon one to me?
I had to google to find that out
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

Got the plane one right using d = 1.22 * SQRT(h) which I remembered but I had to use a calculator and guess closest and convert (d) miles to feet.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Imagine the air was water, which would all want to slosh to the back, making the balloon "float" to the front, as the truck lurched forwardOriginally posted by MyUserName View PostAlright, I have never pretended to be clever - I got the others but could someone explain the balloon one to me?Work in the public sector? I got q7 wrong - (and many others) but this one puzzled me.
As the only possible solution to let anyone know their hat colour would be that the prisoner at the back can see 2 red hats and thus knows his hat is green
as he said nothing then the person at the front can only assume that he is seeing a red hat and a green hat or two green hats
but either way he cannot know if his hat is green or red?
pretty sure the guy in the middle adds nothing to this apart from wearing a red or green hat!
why am I so dim?
and what is the logical answer?Comment
