      Despite posting on an it contracting forum I actually have no it skills. Would that solution involve me typing from the command line every time I want to do anything.

        Or run your browser in a sandbox such as Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing
        I've visited the most ferociously dangerous sites, and never caught anything permanent...

          Isn't that why "privacy mode" was introduced ?

          Switching to that or incognito mode logs you out of facebook/twitter
