So basically <don't you just love when someone says that in a presentation? Or in general?> people are shafted because a PC supplier only supplies a one size fits all.
microshaft had it's day. Still use XP for PTC/matlab software but other than that not for nothing else."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

I've been using Windows, Macintosh and Unix systems for over 20 years and I like to think I understand these systems reasonably well.
Recently, I was shopping for a new laptop and I took a look at Windows 8 but couldn't make head nor tail of it.
So I brought a Macbook instead - and it turns out to be a good choice...
I also have a MacBook pro, I like it. I wasn't familiar with the os when I tried it in the shop but figured after a while I would figure it out. Though I tend to boot into windows 7 on it because I prefer that os. Doesn't make the mac os crap though.Comment

In the old PC world number of shipped units was 76 mln.
Tablets, smartphones ain't that cheap - some of them more expensive than a pretty powerful PC, and people happy to change those frequently.
So there we have it - 250 mln of new PCs vs 76 mln old PCs.
And that's why old PCs no longer selling even though there are sales per se.Comment
