Must get a bigger house, must get a new car, must get this must get that ! all materialistic stuff and you know what ! at the end of the day ...nobody cares what you have !!!
I personally have been there done that and realised that it gets you no where in the long run !Comment

Know what you mean George, best part of any job is the call saying you've got it, always a rush. Way I see it is that work is necessary to finance everything else. By it's nature work is dull and predictable, with a tiny number of exceptions, therefore the more you can earn for the smallest effort is the best you can hope for.
I haven't developed a plan B (beyond some stashes in PEPS + ISA's that are building up quite nice) and don't see me doing so at this stage, I suspect I lack the imagination and skills and most of all the desperate necessity to make me do it. I have been given/engineered a second bite at the contract cherry and after earning less than I spend for a couple of years (damn unpleasant situation) it is now the other way round. I look forward to the happy contractor state when money takes care of itself and I don't have to give it any thought, not for day to day bills, holidays, new stuff with a plug on, clothes etc you can just buy them and not worry about it, after having that and losing it, I really appreciate it this time round !Comment
