I'd be worried if I was relying on the school to teach 11-14 years olds this however, and I don't personally remember attending a 'right and wrong' class ...
I don't recall ever attending a 'right' class. But I was at quite a few 'wrong' classes, in the headmaster's study, where he'd invite one to choose a cane from his large collection in a hollow elephant's foot in the corner (most of the masters were ex Indian-army guys). The trick was to avoid any canes which had split ...

Consider yourself lucky...at our school there was the infamous "bum rub" after a stroke with the cane. Funny thing was, it was always the same boys who got sent to the study. (Not me fortunately....I was the quiet one in the corner who got away with everything, while the real mouthy, bolshy lads got detention after detention)
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Well, I was taught in a Scottish school about 1066, the Magna Carta, the Spanish Armada, and the Civil War, none of which had anything to do with Scotland; as well as Elizabeth I and Henry VIII (who did have something to do with us).

Did you learn anything about 1314, the Declaration of Arbroath, the uprisings of 1715 and 1745 (except for the maurauding hordes piling South), the Auld Alliance with France, or the Maid of Norway or Mary Queen of Scots?

I suspect it's something to do with celebrating English victories and papering over the cracks.

History is a thing of the past and comments above just prove that a whole bunch of us can hold a grudge hundreds of years after the event. Let's just crack open a beer and enjoy the sun...and take the piss out of the paddys instead..

So the question I guess is if moral relevitism has a place in our educational system....

I just think this is a complete load of old PC bollox, they're brainwashing our youngsters into the acceptance of everyone and every living thing. This is all because of those twats running around with explosives on their backs trying to injure, kill, or mame anything that moves with either an American or British flag assimilated to it. Not only are our borders breached, they're now trying to breach our childrens minds.
