You do indeed have just the one life, so why not make it mean something?
Money doesn't buy you friends but you do at least get a better class of enemy. Money doesn't buy you happiness but you might as well be comfortably miserable. Buy into the poverty mindset if you like, just don't expect other people to.....

(DG in 'sheesh, wealth creators, I don't think so' mode)
    Aye DG

I am not suggesting that you dont make your life mean something, but do what you will its all going to fade away and turn to dust.

Thats why Ive spend sheds on Wine Women and Song and I dont regret one penny of my expenditure, or should I say investment?

Theres no peace of mind to be had in the Bank of England, let me walk through the Glens in peace, thats my wealth.

I am just a poor boy and my storys seldom told
Ive squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises
When I left my home and my family, I was no more than a boy

    In the company of strangers
Asking only workmans wages, I come lookin for a job, but I get no offers

Just a comeon from the whores on 7th avenue
I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome
    I took some comfort there

Now the years are rolling by me, they are rockin even me
No it isnt strange, after changes upon changes, we are more or less the same
After changes we are more or less the same

      Bla, bla, bla,
I mean those who say they deserve what they get because they work hard, those people who call 9 hours in an office with free coffee "working hard".
Those who think that 2-4 times the average wage must be a sign that they are valuable people, instead of realising that they're just lucky.
      ............
Nobody has ever got rich by working hard. You have to work smart. I work smart, I share knowledge feely but I keep my own tricks of the trade up my sleeve, that way an eight hour job takes me an hour. My main income comes from one retail business and a service business. Contracting is the cream on top.

There are some devoted permies out there but most that work long hours do to impress their boss.

expat is right: a lot of people have really crap jobs that pay sh1t, they get in debt and their only hope in life that their kids will move out early enough to enjoy retirement which they ain't going to get because pension system will collapse by then.

Having a degree is down to hard work. Having the right skill set is down to smart choices. Getting the right contract is down to honed negotiating skills.

OK right place right time helps, but without my effort none of this woul;d have happened.
To misquote a great wit. The harder I work the luckier I get.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Anything you own or have access to is down to sheer luck, either that or you stole it, so give it back to society now you sponging bastard
