Well I read this and I'm none the wiser. Just looks to me like a bunch of boring old farts standing in court arguing like 3 year olds.

Is AI driven cars allowed in F1?
Replacing drivers with a black box would produce a nice weight and money savings.Comment

You joke, but back in the early 90's, they put Mika Hakkinen in a Mclaren which had on board computers sensing the athmospheric conditions, tyres temps, track temp, etc, etc, etc. The computer was allowed to override the driver, and as it was a bit damp, Hakkinen on coming up to Copse dropped down to 5th and feathered the throttle, but the computer immediately upshifted to sixth and plated the accelerator. Hakkinen admitted afterwards to having a Shepherds Pie moment in his race suit when it happened, but the more he drove, the more he trusted the computer.Originally posted by AtW View PostIs AI driven cars allowed in F1?

To be frank, it could happen, if the FIA allowed it.Comment

Interesting angle from Pirelli. We're nothing to do with the FIA. We are a supplier, we can use any goaddam car we like, so you can all fook off.Comment

Seems about right.Originally posted by Old Hack View PostInteresting angle from Pirelli. We're nothing to do with the FIA. We are a supplier, we can use any goaddam car we like, so you can all fook off.And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

They've gone postal. If you find us guilty of anything, we will sue you in an open court. We told Mercedes not to use the 2011 car, as it would be foolish to. We asked FIA, FIA said yes, so we used new car. You can all get fooked.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostSeems about right.Comment

Well, if you were representing a tyre company with a turnover of 6 billion euros and some jumped up sports governing body starts telling you whom you can sell tyres and whom you can't, that's what you would do.Originally posted by Old Hack View PostThey've gone postal. If I was Pirelli I'd tell FIA that they would not have a good year...Comment

It's actually looking tough for the FIA here, they look like chimps. Pirelli have, effectively, stated you have no control over what we do chaps, now be good boys and fook off out of it.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostWell, if you were representing a tyre company with a turnover of 6 billion euros and some jumped up sports governing body starts telling you whom you can sell tyres and whom you can't, that's what you would do.
Brawn: another tactical masterpiece. Would love to see Horners face right now. It's also going to spice up the season, as no one normally 'formally' accuses another team unless they've gone nuclear. You can see this season ending acrimoniously. It's like a soap opera!Comment
