You can't be a real londoner.
I'm not one either really, but I don't need a tube map. And I have (as of last Thursday) traveled on every bit of the tube network (all stations). Beat that

Ahem. Besides, there's a load of stations and areas that I have no wish to travel to, or even pass through on the tube.

Commuted on the Met line from Middx to Soho. Eventually got off at Baker St and walked the rest of the way to reduce the horrific experience.

Then vowed never to do it again.

A hideous way to experience first hand the fruits of humanity. My condolences to those that have no choice.

Yeah, I was being lazy. I don't really know much of London all that well. Normally I would walk, given a preference. I hadn't bothered looking at exactly where everything was and simply used the TFL journey planner to ensure I got to Moorgate by about 08:30.

I'm not really a morning person - to get in by 08:30 I already have to get up before 06:00, so don't want to go in earlier. And besides, I'm delivering training, so getting in early means nothing in work terms - I can't leave until the end of my sessions for the day. The client allows First Class train tickets on expenses so I don't need to worry on the way in / out of London. I've only got tomorrow to put up with, then back to Edinburgh where I can have a lie in and take a 30 minute walk to the office.

Oh, and there is room for politeness still - I step out of peoples way on the walk between platforms, try not to rub myself up against people more than can be avoided whilst on the train, and am perfectly happy to wait the entire 1 minute to be one of the first on the next train rather than squeezing my belly and b.o. into the last remaining bit of airspace on the previous one.

There are some absolute knobbers on the tubes, the worst IMO are the fit and healthy men who barge their way past everyone else to grab a seat for themselves.

I was passing through London last week and gave my seat up for an elderly lady who had just got on. She actually looked shocked that someone would bother.
Commuting on the tube is great fun once you realise that you could probably chop a fellow passenger in half and no one would say anything. It can be quite a good stress relief to dish out on people that are easy targets for having no manners.

The guys that shove in front are easy, let them through then tread on their ankles _HARD_ it tends to suitably restrain them and I have never seen a victim in the mood to say anything back, just stamp hard then say "Oh terribly sorry!" and walk over them. For a while I also used a Samsonite Pilots case, they are very handy for the knobs that insist on walking straight at you expecting you to climb up a wall to get out their way. They tend not to notice the case until its stuck firmly in their kneecap or nuts.

I normally have 30 mins on a train into Euston then tube wherever, and the longer the contract goes on the more I'm tempted to get the next one somewhere outside of London just to break from the frustration of commuting.

I've never found any contracts as stressful as the daily grind of the commuting itself.

I hope I don't come across you, for I would say something. I hate the tube, and just the idea of getting on it puts me in a bad mood.
