Go for the two year contract, Troll. Okay, you may have to pay a tenner a month extra for the car but you'll only have to service it twice, max, and they will both be piss-pot services, or should be. You are right though, often lease agreements and/or warranties will require main dealer servicing.

I was toying with the idea of disconnecting the speedo and not having any services!!Originally posted by SpartacusGo for the two year contract, Troll. What about not bothering with any services whatsoever?
Come sell time you'll lose money but then you would have saved money on not paying £160/hr for services.Comment

Hope you didn't hurt yourself. Actually I was being serious. I had an A3 (old style) and spent a fortune on it. I recall £50 for a light bulb!Originally posted by RuprectThanks sas, I've only just managed to pick myself up off the floor due to the hilarity of your post.Hard Brexit now!

I worked with a guy that ran an Audi S4
It did not handle or steer quite right. He foolishy took it to Audi who replaced bits of steering and suspension, bit by bit at £100+/hr
He spent £1000's on it and it still handled and steered like a piece of crap.
Moral of the story. Don't buy an Audi.Comment

hehe - sounds exactly like my Alfa (156) story - paid an average of £800 a year for maintenance/repairs ...Originally posted by DimPrawnI worked with a guy that ran an Audi S4

Bearing in mind an MOT isn't due until 3 years I'd say that was a crap deal.Originally posted by ladymuckWhen I sorted out the lease my new car, I also took out a maintenance and servicing contract at £25 per month for the 3 and half year term. That's based on 12k miles a year and covers everything that you may need doing, including MOT's. I could have covered tyres too but I thought the price increase too much (can't remember what it was now). The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Inclusive maintenance is a big profit area for the lease companies. All you're going to need over a two year lease is an oil and filter change twice unless you drive like a complete bell-end.Originally posted by BagpussBearing in mind an MOT isn't due until 3 years I'd say that was a crap deal.
I have to say, a three and a half year lease seems to nullify some of the advantages of leasing a car, i.e. you don't have to worry about MOTs, expensive 60k mile services and so on.I'm Spartacus.Comment

As I have posted before: You only need 2 things in your tool box... gaffer tape and WD40.Originally posted by zeitghostA reel of gaffer tape is your friend...
If it moves and it shouldnt use the tape.
If it doesnt and it should then WD.I am not qualified to give the above advice!
