Im pretty sure the body warranty can be inspected separately once a year and isnt linked to dealer service stamps.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I have done the calculations on this the cost of keeping the service stamps up to date. FDSH will always cost more than the amount of cash offered to you when you sell it. Its a ponzi scheme however that said I have been driving a 10 year old saab for the last year and a half. It had a full service history and was as clean as a whistle. A lot depends if you're 'buying' the car or leasing it and intend handing it back at the end of the term. If you are buying, it does make sense to maintain a main dealer service history for added re sale price.
If handing it back, who cares about re sale value?

Interesting analysis. Did you do that for dealer trad in or private sale? Not sure if it will work for Merc but it has worked for others. Ring around, get several quotes, usually a lot of variation. Use the cheapest quote to negotiate a better price with a local one.
