Naaah Karachi is much nicer and almost as dangerous.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

I remember a stopover in Brazzaville in the Congo and whilst sitting on the plane being sprayed with insecticide there was a small boy outside sitting on the wing with an AK47 staring at us.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostNaaah Karachi is much nicer and almost as dangerous.

Nobody in their right mind holding pounds would bring them to Oz now. You won't buy much house for 1 million sterling at today's exchange rate. Modest 3 bed semi in a reasonable suburb.Comment

Was that during the civil war? Apparently it's improved a lot recently and people from Kinshasa go across there in the evening and at weekends as it's more peaceful; could turn into quite a cool place. Same guy who told me about it says even Kinshasa's looking better with all the investment going into it and well worth visiting for 'seasoned Africa travellers'. Probably still not for the faint hearted though.Originally posted by redgiant View PostI remember a stopover in Brazzaville in the Congo and whilst sitting on the plane being sprayed with insecticide there was a small boy outside sitting on the wing with an AK47 staring at us.

Now he's looking at Oz when the pound is at it's lowest level since 1592.

Life is for living and enjoying which is why my decisions are made as they are. If I waited for the "right" time to do everything I'd end up like you and AtW

Hard Brexit now!

I was there when it was still called Salisbury on the way up to the Wankie National Park. Some Dutch friends had bought a load of gold mines nearby and we were off to visit them. Tried to drive over the road-railway bridge into Zambia and were stopped by soldiers halfway across and told to go back. Nearly as scary as being in the middle of a civil war in Nigeria and having to sleep in the hallway as that was the only place without windows...Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostStopped in Harare on way from JoBurg to Lilongwe when the farm evictions were happening.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
