Really don't see why we can't keep our noses out quite honestly

We are protecting the freedom of hard working poppy farmers from attacks form the Taliban, whom if they had their way would cut off our supplys of poppies thus depriving our servicemen of their poppies for rememberance day.

Fades to Land of Hemp and Heroin ...

    Midnight in Soho 2006

    Fixing in doorways, opium slaves
Poppies for young men, such bitter trade
All of those young lives betrayed
    All for a Children's Crusade

    Young men, soldiers, Nineteen Fourteen
Marching through countries they'd never seen
Virgins with rifles, a game of charades
    All for a Children's Crusade

Pawns in the game are not victims of chance
Strewn on the fields of Belgium and France
Poppies for young men, death's bitter trade
All of those young lives betrayed

The children of England would never be slaves
They're trapped on the wire and dying in waves
The flower of England face down in the mud
And stained in the blood of a whole generation

    Corpulent generals safe behind lines
History's lessons drowned in red wine
Poppies for young men, death's bitter trade
All of those young lives betrayed
    All for a Children's Crusade

The children of England would never be slaves
They're trapped on the wire and dying in waves
The flower of England face down in the mud
And stained in the blood of a whole generation

      Well said that man

What did he expect when his son joined the ******* army? That they would be boy scouts on the weekend and the most dangerous thing they would do would be to handle a tin opener?

Sorry...but people like this are ******* deluding themselves if they believe their children wont get in harms way if they join the armed forces

        Afghanistan is not Iraq.

I have not issues with us wiping out the Taliban.

If we really wanted to deal with Islamic terror groups we would be looking at Riyadh.

          Code:
George: You know, that's the thing I don't really understand about you, Cap.
You're a professional soldier, and yet, sometimes you sound as though
you bally well haven't enjoyed soldiering at all.

Edmund: Well, you see, George, I did like it, back in the old days when the
prerequisite of a British campaign was that the enemy should under
no circumstances carry guns -- even spears made us think twice. The
kind of people we liked to fight were two feet tall and armed with
          	dry grass.

George: Now, come off it, sir -- what about Mboto Gorge, for heaven's sake?

Edmund: Yes, that was a bit of a nasty one -- ten thousand Watusi warriors
armed to the teeth with kiwi fruit and guava halves. After the battle,
instead of taking prisoners, we simply made a huge fruit salad. No,
when I joined up, I never imagined anything as awful as this war.
I'd had fifteen years of military experience, perfecting the art of
ordering a pink gin and saying "Do you do it doggy-doggy?" in
Swahili, and then suddenly four-and-a-half million heavily armed
Germans hoved into view. That was a shock, I can tell you.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Think of it not as occupying Afghanastan and Iraq. Think of it as surrounding Iran on both sides.

Looking on the bright side, North Korea may yet spark World War III, and none of this will matter much.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

              Don't gwumble Bwian

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
              Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

              If life seems jolly rotten
              There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
              Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

              For life is quite absurd
              And death's the final word

You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

              Life's a piece of tulip
              When you look at it
              Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
              You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
              (Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
              What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...
              Why not?
