You could practically count the number of Glasgow Labour councillors without an Irish surname on one hand. Is that bigotry or coincidence? People see what they want to see. Maybe you and Shaunbhoy might want to consider this before making unfounded comments lie this?
If you have lived in the West of Scotland then you will know that it works both ways, and this is especially true in the Engineering and Building Sectors.

But I can assure you I have encountered this awful discrimination in the IT sector too, I should add only in the West of Scotland, as for naming and shaming , as I still have a house in Scotland, altough I dont live there any more as its very difficult to find work where I lived, I dont really fancy having my windows kicked in by the local lodge thx.

You don't live there anymore, but will not name the company/ies involved in case your windows get smashed! As you do not need to post your name, and no-one knows who you are, then you have nothing to lose. Or are you making it up?

I have also been the victim of bigoted behaviour, as have many friends of mine but have never felt the need to post about it on message boards. Unfortunatley, this gives a misguided impression that the fault lies on one side only

The hiring policy is also especially true of local Government and other industries, but you are curiously quiet on that matter, preferring to make yet another snide comment about them nasty Prods. Why is that, I wonder? Point scoring, or trying to focus the blame elsewhere?

Go, would recommend the Highlands & Western Isles (Skye, Mull,Barra, Lewis etc) stunning scenery some of the best in Europe when the clouds lift! Found people are friendly too but attitudes there are different from the central belt.

So we have agreed that employment discrimination exists in the West of Scotland, but I fail to see how I can be making a snide point by ommiting to discuss Local Government discrimination in the West of Scotland against Non Catholics as you say.

If that is the case as you maintain, then I also condemn that practice utterly.

You confirm that you yourself and your friends have experienced discrimination so it should come to no surprise to you that I also have experienced this as well, so I am unsure as to why you would think I am somehow imagining this.

So the fault does not lie with one side only, but we are clearly left with a serious issue.

So therefore how do we propose to end the widespread secteranism in the West of Scotland, I have already suggested the merger of the Rangers and Celtic football clubs as part of the solution , what do you think?

And what is the source of the conflict between a Christian Catholic and a Christian Prodestant, is it a dispute over the nature of the Miraculous Conception of the Virgin Mary ?

Is that what the fighting is all about?

No-one accused you of imaginging anything - I simply pointed out that you, and another poster, were quick to give unfounded examples of bigotry, whilst at the same time making accusations against the other "side" (Shaunbhoys libellous comments against Rangers supporters, and your own claims that the local lodge would put your windows in. BTW, you still haven't named the organisation).

At best, this is point scoring, at worst you are guilty of attempting to tar a group of people with an untrue stereotype. And you claim to be a victim of bigotry.

He made comments about UEFA monitoring their behaviour, which is untrue. There was an investigation where they were found not guilty, but was raised to a public hand-slap after an individual appealed. At the same time, he tried to draw parallels wit his team's supporters perceived behaviour. Taken in the context of this thread, the inference was clear

                      Nuff said!!

From SB They are not known as TFOD (The Forces Of Darkness) for nothing you know!!
Even UEFA are keeping an eye on their antics whilst the same UEFA hand out plaudits to the Celtic support for good behaviour
                      .

So you know for a fact that EUFA are not keeping an eye on rangers' supporters, do you? And EUFA did not applaud celtic's supporters?
I suspect that neither celtic nor rangers' supporters are better or worse than each other, it's the morons in the midst of each of them who are the problem.
And it's your inference, shaunbhoy's implication (grammar police).
