    The politics of envy

Why should someone else have something bigger/better to drive than me

We should all drive trabants or tractors

    it's only fair
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

That's all it is. They talk of evil 4x4 and justify it on "emissions" and "bulky".

Many 4x4 are smaller than people carriers, large saloons and vans and produce less emissions, so it's just a leftie class war piece of bulltulip.

I don't drive a 4x4 but I'm tempted to get the biggest ******* one out there now.

The only problem if you do, is that because of the poor mpg you will be contributing more to labours coffers... probally best you circumvent this by syphoning diesel from parked up foreign lorries (mere joke m'lud)

What is a 4x4 gas guzzler?

Is it a 4 wheel drive vehicle? If so, does that mean if I drive a giant 2 wheel drive 8 litre truck I am exempt? Does the owner of a tiddly Fiat Panda 4x4 diesel have to pay it?

Is it perhaps a large vehicle? If so does it apply to people carriers or vans? What about a stretched limo?

Perhaps it is just cars that emit a lot of nasties? If so, WHAT THE **** HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH 4x4? Most of the big polluters are older vehicles and large saloons or sports cars.

**** off you stupid nannying, legislative moronic ******.

If people are going to moan about your vehicle, at least give them something proper to moan about.

Nice coat of black paint, polished chrome trim, some "enhancements", and you're away ! Sorted !
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

                    to Tescos.

What with all the dodgy foreign Johnnies holed up in Blighty, I reckon a Hummer might be a reasonable choice in the near future.

Especially with a well oiled .50 cal for the other half to make use of while you are cruising....
