Been there and done it. When microwave ovens were still really expensive I gutted ours by drying a pair of socks. I'd done it before. Zap them for a bit, take them out and let them cool and zap them again. What I did this time was switch it to cook for 20 mins and go and watch crimewatch. Then the phone went and while talking to one of my mates on the phone I noticed a burning smell. I ran to the kitchen and saw a nice little flame behind the brown glass. I then went back to the phone to inform my mate that I'd just set fire to the kitchen and would probably see him the next day at school. Back to the fire and after unplugging it, as it was still coooking, I opened the door in the hope that it was just the socks burning. No hope. All the roof started to collapse and slide towards the open door, preventing it from shutting. I had to punch the door to get it to shut.
My folks were really good about it - luckily they were in the pub when I rang them. I doubt my dad would have seen the funny side had he been in the house at the time...but then I wouldn't have been drying my socks in the oven if he were!Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
