I agree about the monthly charges - now stopping SWTOR and possibly WoW (for a bit). It's not just finding the time, sometimes the enthusiasm and others to group. My WoW guild is suffering from this aspects as RL gets in the way for weekly commitments.
And sometimes I'm just too tired to concentrate for 3 hours in Dragon Soul or whatever.
Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy. If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

For those of you into Skyrim, keep an eye out for Witcher 2 coming up in the sale.
Currently playing through it again and IMO, its a wee bit better than Skyrim (which is a superb game itself and anyone who hasn't played it should get it immediately). Harder to get into but a better game in all.Comment

Just had a look at the top 10 PC games on game.co.uk. It looks rubbish. There was a time when PC games were different to console games because they required a bit of thought. They look just like console games nowRule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

True, consoles are where the sales are at so 90% of new PC games are developed primarily for XBox/PS3 with the PC port as an afterthought with some higher res textures bunged in. Annoying but can't blame them really.Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostThey look just like console games now
There are still some goodun's though and PC gaming in the main pisses all over consoles.Comment

Yep, just replaying The Witcher 2 myself (taking the side of Iorveth, rather than Vernon Roche, this time around.) Great game, although the map is a bit useless and navigation a bit of a mess. Doesn't match-up to the "scale" of Skyrim, but certainly has far greater "depth" in terms of character creation/development. The Witcher 2 also has a better, more mature approach to story-telling: I've shagged all the whores in the brothels so far, a female Elf and a Sorceress. Just like real life, then (with the addition of doomage's mum.)Originally posted by Durbs View PostFor those of you into Skyrim, keep an eye out for Witcher 2 coming up in the sale.

How can you say that when 90% come from consoles. Yes they look nicer, but that nicer look is at a huge cost. You have to keep upgrading your PC to keep up with the specs while the console gamers simply have to wait until the next machine is released. Video cards are hugely expensive.Originally posted by Durbs View PostTrue, consoles are where the sales are at so 90% of new PC games are developed primarily for XBox/PS3 with the PC port as an afterthought with some higher res textures bunged in. To be honest, I have a PS3 and a PC that I used to use for gaming. The PC is in bits as I have used parts of it while fixing my sons PC's and the PS3 has not been turned on in a year. To be honest, the games that are developed these days all seem very samey.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Simply not true. I game happily on a machine I built 5 years ago (4GB ram and Intel Core2 Quad.) And that PC, of course, went "through the business."Originally posted by BoredBloke View PostYou have to keep upgrading your PC to keep up with the specs while the console gamers simply have to wait until the next machine is released.
Only a fool keeps "upgrading" a PC these days in order to game; it simply isn't required, especially when the average console is about the same specs. as a several year old PC.nomadd liked this postComment
