I understand why people do it, but I feel there's something rude about sending invitations by the bcc method. It gives the impression that you don't trust your guests with each others' contact details (perhaps true in your case), or that you think they wouldn't come if they know who else was coming. So, in my book you accidentally did right, and that's why nobody complained.

Got invite to mate's 40th. At the bottom she'd written "Please do not reply to all". I still got 17 further emails from people who obviously couldn't cope with simple instructions, including one that said "Apologies for my last email - I didn't intend to reply all"Comment
