There's a guy who contracted at the same client I did who has totally made up his entire work there, including some really weird and wonderful technologies along with totally fabricated vendor qualifications . (the guy needed assistance with very basic tasks , but has quals that should have him more talented than me). I'm 100% sure everything he says is a lie regarding the post last year and his experience.

I'm dissapointed to see that hes placed at KPMG for 8 months and now at a top investment bank in the city , while I sat on the bench and now work in a 50% cut rate, crappy joke of an assignment ...

    *insert worlds smallest violin*

I hate this ... really grinds my gears.
Sounds like the same bloke I worked with in Reading.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

      Similar experiences before.

Had ones that have every engineer/MS/cisco cert going, then keeps asking me how to modify such and such in AD, how to get the image over lan working, etc etc, all simple jobs in a really easy gig which you take to put your feet up at.

I think I'm going to cry..

I seriously cant believe it, the devil in me wants to join in and just bulltulip like him, but I shouldn't have to, I've a good background but cant find a decent contract for toffee.

I got totally lied to by my client for my current one, I have 3 days to find a replacement (1 days notice) or I'm stuck for the duration until July.

Indeed. Sometimes Ive thought why not just lie on my CV. The problem is Im too honest and dont fudge it at all. Maybe I should.

I've bent the truth to get a contract and I do it again if I had to. Business is business.
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

Every contractor does this, especially those who claim they've never lied on their cv.

BTW, I never lie on my cv.

Maybe you just need someone to re-write your CV for you. Put in some buzzy words etc. Agents don't read your CV they put it through a search application, if there is a ??% match they will look at it.

If you are on the bench stop thinking you are right, everybody else should change, unless you want to stay on the bench.

I realised I was missing experience in some areas, my match rate was no high enough. So I took a role to give me what I needed (I would have taken a low rate). I could have lied.

Don't keep doing the same thing, and complaining it does not work!

Whilst i understand what you are saying listing over 20 vendor qualifications that you don't have is too much.

If i come across as blaming everything but myself, thats not the case - and I am in contract now, just a crap one.

I do tender my CV's to the role - the problem is that my market is ultra competitive and the roles just dont seem to be there....
