10 hour flight, although Vancouver is one of the best places I have ever been to. Jericho Beach amazing views of the city, Stanley Park Black Squirrels and city skiing on Grouse and Seymour. Top place. -
Then the Rockies are a good alternative to combine with Vancouver.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostHadn't considered much of Canada. Not drinking alcohol, though, a trip to wineries might be wasted (which we obviously wouldn't be).
Added to the list....Comment

How about a theme week
fly to Red stick then travel up the missippi by paddle boat for a week, then fly out from the north
you could stop off at jazz festivals, visit graceland, BB Kings
read some Mark Twain, get some cotton bols(\__/)

Got a flight after much trying to Newark, then we're renting a car and driving round New England for 9 days.Originally posted by Pondlife View PostIn that case to NYC & Boston with a cheeky day at Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod.
Girls are spending the time with both sets of grandparents, MrsF and I get a holiday to recover from the two weeks in France. Everybody wins
Now I just need to plan some kind of route and book some hotels.....Comment

WTFSOriginally posted by TiroFijo View PostHawaii is great, been there twice while I was working in CA, rule it back in!
Lovely place, reliable weather, empty beaches.
I guess it depends what your into, viewing cityscapes, lying on a beach, exploring.Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.Comment

Maine is cracking, in fact, the route up from Boston to New Hampshire and beyond is great, look out for Gloucester and Concord, or even up as far as Saint John in New Brunswick.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostGot a flight after much trying to Newark, then we're renting a car and driving round New England for 9 days.

Cape cod is fun too, as are the boat trips out to Nantuckett and beyond. Some cracking whale and shark watching trips too.
Quite envious, sounds a lovely trip.
Have fun.Comment

Do a Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale with the Royal Caribbean. 7 days on the Western or Eastern Caribbean. I'm doing one in September, and am looking forward to it.If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment

My parents lived in Connecticut for a couple of years, moving back to the UK just before I was born - they have plenty of ideas of places for us to visit!!Originally posted by Zoiderman View PostMaine is cracking, in fact, the route up from Boston to New Hampshire and beyond is great, look out for Gloucester and Concord, or even up as far as Saint John in New Brunswick.

Apart from driving from Pennsylvania to Vermont one winter to go skiing, and from Pennsylvania up to Toronto for relatives when we lived there, I've not been to New England before. Really looking forward to it - unfortunately (assuming I'm in contract) it means that I now only have three days opportunity to work in a four week period, but that's why I work for myself
Waiting for the guide books to arrive to look for some places to go - spent last night looking at ferry crossings to Martha's Vineyard as it seems crazy not to go when we are there!Comment
