I reckon that those caught using sockies in anger should receive punitive action, such as wiping rep, then post count and banning in extreme cases... but that's just my tuppence.

Ah, someone, who has few posts to their name and whose name begins with Z, has repped me giving me 1 extra point. Compared to 4 other reps totalling 69 points, so post count still seems to weigh heavily in the repping algorithm, which may not have changed.

I would say he does have a few sockies, however there is probably enough people on here who things it funny to keep him top of the rep chart. Unless he has the time and effort to get the value of each sockie high enough I think he gets more points per rep from the established members who play along than his low accounts
