If the 50p top rate tax was changed because the Tory party got a donation then yes.

Do you think they needed a donation to make it happen? They did a poor job of removing 50p anyway, whoever gave them money should ask for a refund...

They are a bit more upfront about it rather than trying to pretend otherwise. Of course quite a few unions decided not to pay over the years and individual members have had the right to opt out of politcal donations for some time.

There was an interesting graphic on the beeb earlier. From what you are saying here, most of those union contribs could be classed as "individual".
