It would not be so bad - except we all know that really it is just a way to increase profits so the directors can earn even bigger bonuses...

it is just blatant profitering - they should be covering the cost by increasing costs for new customers and yes you should be able to walk away without penalty...

would any of you get away with given your clients a price hike mid contract -- nope (or rarely!) it is all done by negotiating a new contract with either party can reject and therefore walk away.

simialr to when your contract rate gets cut -- accept it or walk away with no penalilties

Bad timing on their part. My contract was due for renewal end of Dec.
I walked away. and got a better deal into the bargain.

Blatant profiteering that you realise is happening.

I'm willing to bet that you have been subject to blatant profiteering that you have been unaware of.

I'm so glad I don't have a contract phone, I just bought a handset and I have a sim only one month rolling contract with 3, makes it easier to switch if they decide to hike their prices

You'll still have to deal with 3 customer services though. I'd rather have the rate hike.

I've never had a problem with them and I have found the coverage to be superb.

Me neither, infact while they were generally pretty useless I did get some hefty refunds out of them over the years I was with them but reception... I only left 3 because their reception was just soooo bad where I work. Also the 3 phone we got for our son while he was away at school got a pretty terrible reception also - fine at home but he's away more than he is at home! If they fixed their network I'd be back like a shot. Their unlimited data is handy simply because you know you won't get charged extra. None of the others offer that.....just a shame you can't get a reception to get the unlimited data!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                  I preferred version 1!

I got a text in 1st Dec saying there was going to be a 4.34% increase, then this Monday another text saying it was all a mistake, sorry for any confusion and there isn't any increase after all....

                      Yes, it's all your fault.

Instead of whining about Orange submit your offer to increase your rates by only rate of inflation if accepted before Xmas, double otherwise.
