I admit there are not a huge amount of jobs out there - however many of these choose to not bother getting out of bed.

It's about time we stopped blaming society and started to address the individuals.
I have a friend whose son is at a top public school and is worried he will never get a job in the UK. In the UK we have offshored all our jobs and all our growth - and now its too late to reverse the trend.

My friend tells his son to move East. I am telling my children to do the same.

Nonsense. I disagree, if you don't mind.

Thatcher implemented deep cuts in the recession of the early '80s and we came out the other side with one of the world's strongest economies that the whole world wanted to do business with.

There are plenty of unemployed who do bugger all except 'look for jobs'.

There are quite a few jobs out there.

What there are not is quite a few jobs offering school leavers/grads £35k per year which is what seems to be pat of the problem.

          Completely unrealistic salary expectations.

I can't see full employment being possible while our borders are wide open.

On an entirely different matter to support monkey may I suggest your son goes one step further - having seen his fathers spelling, I assume the grammar on his CV is correct- and delivers his CV directly to employers. If he finds out at reception who the CV will go to and follow it up then he will get a job. I have recruited three people who have knocked on our door looking for a job - and no before you all start, they are not Big Issue salesmen.
wrote in haste and yes his "speeling" is much better than mine, i always drum it in to him to find out who the manager/recruiter is, and its all well and good saying go to macdonalds or factories, epsecially low level work there are hundreds of people applying especially graduates with media studies degrees.

The simple fact of the matter is there is very little work out there especially when you have no proven track record, if you get 50 CVs on your desk with just school leaver qualifications who you gonna call in for the interview

I agree cuts have to be made, but to quickly stunts growth. BTW this recession is more like the Great depression than the poxy one in the 80's.

They should have lots of kids, they will get a house and much higher and variety of benefits. I'm surprised some of them haven't cottoned on to this yet. Without kids they are ****ed.

I am intrigued to know just how Osborne is supposed to deal with the legacy of debt left by NL. Does he borrow more? Is there some tree on which money grows so that he does not have to make cuts? Or should he do what that well trusted paragon of financial virtue Ed Balls do and ignore the deficit?

I agree there are loads of jobs out there just not ones for your average school leaver with a few GCSE and no track record and yes because all the grads with their art and media studies degrees cannot drop into the high level jobs their all applying for burger king forcing the average school leaver out of even the low paid entry level work
