Im glad the police are pouring their resources into this, not as if there are murderers and thiefs to catch.

You're either a troll or really are ill-informed about the UK legal system. The Police may use 'reasonable force' to effect entry in carrying out their duties (as previously pointed out to you) under s.17 PACE. They have a duty to secure the premises to the best of their ability after entry and compensation 'may' be paid based on the circumstances.Originally posted by Paddy View PostWatching the news I find it puzzling who gave the police the authority to demolish homes and property? Surly that would be the council workers job.
www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/SN05524.pdfWhether compensation is appropriate depends on the circumstances in each case. Compensation for damage caused when effecting entry is unlikely to be appropriate if the search was lawful, and the force used can be shown to be reasonable, proportionate and necessary to effect entry. If the wrong premises are searched by mistake everything possible should be done at the earliest opportunity to allay any sense of grievance and there should normally be a strong presumption in favour of paying compensation"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

What's the point in having the laws if you're not going to enforce them?Originally posted by russell View PostIm glad the police are pouring their resources into this, not as if there are murderers and thiefs to catch.

The top copper in charge has just explained why they removed some obstructions - the photo you posted without any context shows police chopping a fence not "demolishing homes" - why are you deliberately distorting things?Comment
