A good point is that his weight is placed firmly on the locked left leg, but this is nullilfied by bringing the right leg through slightly too late. Looking at his left arm tells me he hasn't used the leverage of his arm to rotate his shoulders and has let go of the extinguisher with his right arm still trailing his body instead of gaining the full whipping effect of locking the shoulder just before the point of release to catapult the throwing arm forward.

In short, a crap throw; I feel that with a few sessions of technique training he could possibly double the length of his throw.
Don't you think, with something heavy like a fire extinguisher, he'd have been better going for a hammer throw type thing?

Yep, a hammer throw technique would be better, but you need a certain amount of bulk to counter the momentum of a fast swinging hammer; that's why hammer throwers tend to be quite, erm, well fed. Even better fed than discus or javelin throwers should I say.

This particular chap looks more like a runner than a thrower.

            He might be a decathlete.

It's a well-known fact that the 10 disciplines of a decathlon were developed by the ancient Greeks from the skills needed for violent demonstration. Chucking things, jumping over barracades, running away from the filth, etc.

I don't know, but attempts to introduce the egg and spoon race in Somalia were hampered by...you can guess.

                  Bad taste I know.
