[QUOTE=Incognito;1390191]The Oslo accords ceded full authority for defence against external threats to Israel, that is what gave Israel authority to exert their control over Palestinian airspace and waters. That is why their Naval blockade has not been ruled illegal by the UN (it has been criticised though).

I have just read it and it does not say that.

      Annex XI: Israel's continuing responsibilities
It was understood that, subsequent to the Israeli withdrawal, Israel would continue to be responsible for external security, and for internal security and public order of settlements and Israelis. Israeli military forces and civilians would be allowed to continue using roads freely within the Gaza Strip and the Jericho area.
And the UN Palmer report states:
Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza...The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure in order to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea and its implementation complied with the requirements of international law.

Turkey are making this worse, Israel will allow humanitarian aid over land borders they control. All they want to do is restrict the import of what they class as 'dual role' I.e concrete for making bunkers etc. The idiots on the flotilla are trying to escalate this into a full blown conflict.
