The've obviously never visited your neck of the woods then.

Only safe if you wear a stab proof vest and stay indoors.

You'd love to live where I do. No seriously, you would. But you can't afford it.

          Wimbledon.

I used to live quite close to your neck of the woods, by the southern end of Clapham Common where the tube is.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

That's not where I am, I'm in the Toast Rack.

Clearly you must be in the grotty part of Wimbledon since you describe it as a tulip hole and you wouldn't if you were in the nice part.

Crumbs. You're a good mile away from where I used to live. Closer to the prison than my old house in fact.

I'm in the village. If you read closely, you will notice I frequently describe London and the UK as a tulip hole. While it has it's nice spots the unfortunate truth is that most of London is a bit of a dump, and however rich one is one cannot simply bulldoze 90% of it into the sea.

Yes at least you can live in it even if it isn't worth much.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

I would say any of the London "villages" are fine, most of everything else is a dump.
But thats true of most capitals: Paris (almost everything around the pretty tourist centre) and Berlin , Madrid and Lisboa too ....
The only decent capital city in Europe is Rome and even that has its dumps .
Lets not even start on the US.

But only London lets you get rich just living in it.

Yes, some areas are nice enough, but the fact is you cannot confine your existence to those small areas and that forces you to deal with the rest of it.

Stockholm, Copenhagen & Vienna spring to mind as capital cities that are also decent places to live. Lisbon is indeed grim. Rome I would put in the same bracket TBH, great as a tourist but I wouldn't want to live there in a million years.

I hardly think you can compare the capiatal cities of small homogenous countries to global centres like London Paris or Berlin or New York
Some would find the former stiflingly provincial. All depends on your personality and interests..

And like I say if you bought in London at any point in the medium or distant past you can live anywhere you want in the world, in the best areas.
