I tried to highlight that discrepancy on the BN66 thread and got prompty flamed within minutes.

I'm generally supportive of their case from a legal point of view, but that's one thing that does annoy me - they spend years triumphantly stating that fairness is irrelevant (i.e. "paying your fair share of tax"), yet expect full and complete fairness from HMRC.

        WHS

Be grateful that tax evasion with long jail terms isn't defined as substantial different in tax due vs actually paid.

The way things seem to stand is that one might claim 0% tax due to being fiduciary of God and foreign diplomat and HMRC will just correct figures and ask nicely to pay up.

Be grateful Outland Revenue does not break your thumbs.

The real interesting part in my view is why scheme operators take such a high %-tage: 10%, it's not like they give properly backed insurance to pay it all back in the event if scheme "does not work".

Surely 10% gross is way too much for a few forms filled? It's not like scheme operator takes all the risk.

I'm happy to pay the same % as Sir Philip Green, government adviser and highly respected businessman, and shining beacon to us all about "fairness".

Easy, just marry a woman that you can trust ownership of all your shares whilst you do all the work for pityful salary.
