Old man in a flap cap and Mirca may think he is doing 68 mph in the middle lane but in fact he is doing 63mph!
Which would give impatient ****** in bog-standard Aygo 7mph and one free lane to execute overtaking maneouvre. Great. Thanks for clearing that up Paddy.

So there you go sas, either pass in the available outside lane or set off a bit earlier, you curmudgeonly knobpolisher.

Actually the law stipulates they must not under read but can over read by quite a lot (up to V/10 + 6.25 mph) for all speeds between 25 and 70mph, so potentially you could have an indicated 70mph but be doing about 57 mph.

I never understand why people get upset about this, can't you just use the right hand lane and overtake?

Its when you're making progress in the leftmost lane as you should, then find ShaunBhoy dithering along in the middle at 40 mph rather then leftmost, so you have to swing across two lanes rather than one to overtake.

I can see how that would be annoying

And obviously mentally arduous for some...

                Anyway, weekend beckons!

But you have previously stated that you don't adhere to the 70 mph limit. Are you saying that you "make progress" in the leftmost lane at 80mph+?

Well as I seldom do less than 60-70 on the motorway (as verified by my GPS as well as Speedo readings), and never "dither", that kind of negates your puny argument.
And I find the sort of bellend that sweeps huffily across all three lanes, at speeds in excess of the prescribed limit, a damned sight more dangerous and irritating than any old codgers I may encounter.
If you have problems with overtaking, perhaps you should let someone less nervous and highly strung drive you around?

I'll check on the way down to Devon tonight, but I expect the answer to be "No they can't".

                      Isn't Shaun from Devon?
