I don't know about the IT config and set up, but Autonomy is much more than document management software.
It uses some clever ideas, notably Bayes' theorem, to do some very intelligent classification of data.

If HP can just keep their fingers off the company's structure then it'll be a massively profitable acquisition over the years. If they try to HP-ise the company then it'll go the way of the Touchpad.
Hewlett and Packard must be spinning in their graves at that description.

I've come to the conclusion that the people at the very top of large companies have no outstanding talents apart from political nous and some are downright stupid.
