Like it!...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

Why not get an ex GPO Commer van? They are ideal for converting into camper vans and you can pick one up for a few hundred pounds.Comment

I've looked into it on a few occasions in the past and I came to the conclusion that I just wouldn't have the time to look after a VW camper.
You need be prepared for the inevitable breakdowns and spend the odd weekend doing maintenance tasks, I'd image it's more like owning a boat than a car. You've got to love that sort of thing.
Can yourself picture yourself or Mrs Lockhouse wearing overalls with a spanner in hand?Last edited by gingerjedi; 8 August 2011, 14:48.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Actually I run a wedding car business in my spare time so er....yes.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostCan yourself picture yourself or Mrs Lockhouse wearing overalls with a spanner in hand?
Anyway after looking at it in detail I've decided I'd be better off with a proper two berth motorhome with a decent kitchen and lav. Camper vans are too much like roughing it for me (well actually the missus)!...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

I had a 1979 type 2 van for a while. It was slow, thirsty and unreliable and rusty. I sold mine before the became a cult.Comment
